I hope you had an amazing Thanksgiving! I know I loved having the chance to visit with family, enjoy my own children for a few school-less days, and take part in family fun. During this holiday season, there are so many things that I am thankful for!
My favorite thing about this time of year is our annual Girls’ Weekend Trip! We drive about five hours south to Nashville, Tennessee where we stay at the Gaylord Opryland Hotel! If you have never been to a Gaylord Hotel, it is a must. You would think we were heading to Hawaii for a month, the way my six year-old anticipates our adventure, but it is a wonderland, nonetheless. The hotel is gorgeous, and I don’t have to COOK or CLEAN for two days! HEAVEN!! I can’t help but to make the bed, however!
In past years we have gone to see the Rockette’s perform, but they are no longer on-tour in Nashville, sadly. So this year we embarked on the spa and did a little pampering. You are NEVER too young for a pedicure with hot pink, sparkly toes. Right?!
Outside of eating and shopping, a favorite for the girls is getting to swim in the indoor swimming pool. I was a bit excited this year because I didn’t have to suit up and go in! Everyone can swim safely, so the mommas could park it in chairs on the side of the pool with a cocktail! We chat, we shop, we eat, and the girls love to do crafts. It is all of their favorite things crammed into two days with just the girls. My mom flies in from Atlanta to join in on the fun and spoil everyone! This is my mom, my daughter, Lilah, and me.
We are always sad to see it end, but we know that the coming weeks are full of MORE holiday excitement!
This weekend we look forward to St. Nick Night! It is Saturday, December 5th. Our amazing neighbor, Mr. Taylor, who also finished our basement, is St. Nicholas. He is decked out in his St. Nicholas gear, rides around town in a horse drawn carriage, and passes out goodies from 5-9PM all over our community. My kids LOVE it. This is actually the event that inspired my FREEBIE. You can grab it by clicking on the image.
Thanks so much for letting me share my favorite winter holiday festivities! I would love for you to share some of the traditions that are most meaningful for you during this winter season. Happy Holidays!
