I LOVE Pinterest! So much that if I need to come up with a recipe for an event or party, my nine year old son and six year old daughter will ask, “Did you check Pinterest?” They are smart enough to know that I will drag them through Trader Joe’s, Target, and Kroger until we find that perfect item, otherwise.
For recipes, crafts, clothing inspiration, home improvement, and classroom ideas…Pinterest is my GO-TO! Here are a few of the best things I have found for January that have made my life far easier!
Need a low-prep, inexpensive, and quick idea for a party appetizer or school pot luck item? This is it…I made these for New Year’s Eve. You need: tortillas, cream cheese, ranch dressing mix, diced red/green peppers, and salt and pepper. Mix, spread, roll, refrigerate, and cut. It doesn’t get much simpler. Thank you, Ree Drummond and Food Network for making my life easy!
I love inspirational quotes and signs. I have colorful and cheap IKEA frames that I use to display various quotes around my classroom. I place them on bookshelves, window sills, on my desk, and in student work spaces as little reminders. While this hasn’t been typed up and displayed yet, this might be a perfect poster-sized quote for the front of the classroom, hallway, or in the cafeteria.
As a teacher-mom and habitual Target shopper, I realize that I am not alone in my enthusiasm for Valentine’s Day. Before those Christmas decorations have even been discounted to 50% off, Target has filled it’s aisles and Red Spot with heart-shaped excitement with the anticipation of everything Valentine’s Day. I embrace it because it means we are that much closer to thoughts of Spring Break and warm weather. I may live in Ohio, but that doesn’t mean I have to like the cold…so bring on Valentine’s Day. Better yet, Target can go ahead and get that Easter candy out, too!
