If you are looking for teaching tips and perfect classroom ideas, this is not the week! I am still trying to figure out how to squeeze in DRAs, complete progress monitoring, and grade 75-writing journals without schlepping them all home…
Two wins for my week:
- My immune system is strong enough to end a cold without the need for Urgent Care and a round of antibiotics!
- My children are alive.
I have reached the point in the school year where we are in full swing as a family with nightly activities, and my momma head might explode. Fall always seems to be like that. It is busy and full. I have to laugh at and to myself often because it gets me through these wild days. I know you have the exact same thing happening within your household, so I thought I could give you a moment to commiserate and maybe have a laugh at my idiosyncrasies.
I sometimes look at my teacher friends and think, “Man, that lady has her act TOGETHER!” I think we all do that because we have faith in one another and we look to see the bright side. Then I take a moment to chat with my “have-it-all-together-teacher friend” and I realize… NONE OF US DO! We are all in survival mode, but we figure out how to make life work!
As I reflect on my past week, I am grateful for all of the little wins…everyone got where they needed to go, mostly nourished, and with few incidents. But, I wanted to share that my day-to-day internal battles and struggles are real! Here are a few that I battled this school week or here is My Life in Memes…
Meme #1: To Grade or Not to Grade?
These tasks are both essentials, but sometimes the lack of desire for one, makes the other look that much better. Even cleaning out the Goldfish and Cheerio Mobile…
Meme #2: You want dinner, AGAIN?! You just ate it yesterday!
Social media gets me EVERY TIME!
Meme #3: I am Erin Beers, and I have a lunch packing problem!
I could exercise so much less if I just had my kids buy lunch at school every day! I am STARVING, so the packing of lunch after school each day turns into snacking mayhem!
Meme #4: When will they design a folding-clothes dryer?!
Maybe the reason for a higher electric bill during the school year?! But, I am not sure…
Some weeks aren’t pretty. Stay tuned for next week! I promise to have some useful classroom tidbits…or maybe I won’t! We shall see! In the meantime, keep on keepin’ on, teacher friends.
